Nursing Home, Crumlin, Dublin 12
The site at Captain's Place, Crumlin, Dublin 12 has been in a derelict condition for a long period of time raising concerns from local residents due to safety hazards it represented. Because of their extensive expertise and years of experience in procurement in the healthcare sector, Healy Butler Moffat Architects were approached by a potential developer in April 2025 and asked to produce a scheme proposal for a nursing home facility, which would offer value for money, ensure a fluid HIQA registration process, while also satisfying a complexity of the local planning requirements.
A feasibility study identified an opportunity for the development of 5-storey building accommodating 152no. future residents. The proposal met all aspects of a viable development opportunity, and a planning application was submitted in June 2025. Planning permission was secured in September 2025 and the project quickly moved towards construction stage, which will commence at the end of January 2026.
The building will provide 152no. single bedrooms with en-suite, spacious and well-lit communal spaces that are visually connected with highly landscaped open amenity areas, all necessary clinical and support spaces and staff facilities, all in accordance with the most up-to-date HIQA standards and statutory requirements.
